At Synctera, our vision is to unlock human potential through financial innovation. It’s a lofty goal, but one we’re uniquely positioned to help with new programs and tools we’re creating like t-minus10, Liftoff, and more.
Synctera was started because we realized innovators in the financial technology sector encounter many obstacles when bringing their ideas to life. These obstacles are amplified when the innovators are from marginalized communities.
Time and time again, founders or would-be founders with exceptional capabilities from marginalized groups are not provided with the opportunity to show the world what they’re capable of. How is one supposed to have a seat at the table if there are no extra chairs? A better question to ask ourselves: how can we create more seats at the table?
Whether it’s helping the next generation of entrepreneurs with a tech toolkit that simplifies the way to build a startup or starting important diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within Synctera itself, we’re dedicated to removing obstacles for founders, peers, and colleagues by creating accessible platforms and equity in the market for entry.
We started on this journey in 2021 when Synctera announced an ongoing commitment to the Cap Table Coalition. Working alongside our peer group of high-growth startups, VC firms, and emerging fund managers, our company is committed to allocating 10% of all future funding rounds to traditionally marginalized investors in order to close the racial wealth gap.
We’re proud to announce that we are adding to this commitment by partnering with Plaid FinRise: an incubator program created by Plaid and designed to support early-stage founders who are Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC). Plaid FinRise’s goal is to provide a supportive community for founders that can help impact the future of financial services.
As one of Plaid FinRise’s Network Partners, Synctera will provide technical and cost-free support to startups that applied and/or were selected to the program. Joining other partners like AWS, ZenDesk, and more, we’re incredibly excited to expand on our company’s ethos and support the next group of FinTech leaders and thinkers bringing diversity to our industry.
As we look to the future, our goal is to continue partnering with people to make it even easier for FinTechs to solve complex financial problems, and ultimately, continue to unlock more human potential through innovation for everyone.
