Today is a big day. We are pleased to now welcome companies of all sizes to start building and testing their Canada-specific banking products in our sandbox.

It hasn’t been that long since we let you know about our intentions to expand our platform offerings into Canada. We’ve been hard at work to bring developers up north the exact same experience as our current customers have come to love and rely on for building amazing banking and money movement products.

It’s a really big deal to now be able to enable two major markets with one API and one sandbox.

The sandbox lets you use all of our APIs in a safe, secure environment without any of the risks associated with real money or making billable API calls and transactions.

As I shared before, Canada is the opportunity that Synctera was built for. A platform that’s flexible, powerful, and programs that help both consumers and businesses do their banking everywhere they are, whenever they want. No more going to a branch and in the very near future, no more switching between ten apps to move money, get a loan, and everything else you’d do at a physical location. 

We’ve added some new members to the team to help us with the expansion and I’d love for you to get to know them.

First, Elena Litani joins us as our VP of Product - Global Expansion. She’s handling all of the platform and product nuances that allow us to work seamlessly and flawlessly from country to country. No matter where you build, Synctera’s APIs, building blocks and dashboards will be consistent across the board. Prior to Synctera, Elena was Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder at Pillar and was previously the VP, Engineering at KOHO Financial.

And to make sure our product and processes are built with compliance at the forefront, a real area of focus for Synctera in the US and beyond, Lisa Durnford joins us as our Head of Compliance, Canada. We’re excited to bring you the same risk and compliance education and tools that we bring to our current customers. The Synctera platform was built with compliance as a cornerstone, so it was the first item on our to-do list as we plotted our course into the country a few months ago. Previously, Lisa spent time at Wealthsimple as their Director, Compliance & Product Risk.

We’re lucky to have both of them, and you’ll get to meet more members of the team as we head out and about to conferences like Canada Fintech Forum, which we’re attending this year. Our CEO Peter Hazlehurst is even speaking at the event. Be sure to come find us.
