How Fruitful is Bridging the Gap Between Financial Advice and Action

Learn how Fruitful launched a suite of banking products to help its members take more control of their finances

More than two-thirds of Americans say finances are their largest source of stress in life. On top of that, many don’t know where to turn for actionable advice. Private wealth advisors are reserved for the already wealthy, and robo-advisors offer one-size-fits-all solutions that don’t address people’s unique financial needs, goals, and challenges.

The lack of an accessible and personalized solution creates a gap for millions of people seeking to improve their financial health.

Fruitful’s leadership team, including CEO Sam Lewis and Head of Guidance Rebecca Palmer, CFP®, has been working to close this gap and entirely reimagine financial guidance. They set out to build a platform that not only increases the accessibility of personalized, one-on-one financial advice delivered by experts but also uses technology that makes it simple and stress-free for people to take action on the advice they receive.

First launched in 2023, Fruitful is a financial membership that provides one-on-one financial advice tailored to an individual’s goals, seamlessly integrated with a suite of saving, spending, and investing products.

“For too long, the financial services industry has embraced outdated banking and advisory models that muddle their customers’ full financial picture. We’ve designed an entirely fresh approach to empower our members to get organized, earn more, and avoid fees while getting advice from their Fruitful Guide and taking action,” says Sam Lewis, CEO of Fruitful.

Launching Cash & Card with Synctera

To break down the barriers between financial advice and action, Fruitful needed to build banking products embedded directly into its platform. By adding unique features that promote smart saving and spending, members can use these products to better control their finances.

“Finance is complicated, and building everything on your own requires far too much time,” says Sam. “Synctera allowed us to leverage their API and foundational technology, which has given us a straightforward way to launch great products that benefit our members.”

The Synctera Platform provided Fruitful with the ability to seamlessly connect to their sponsor bank and build full-featured banking products using the Synctera APIs. In February 2025, Fruitful launched Cash & Card, providing their members with:

  1. Deposit accounts that combine the high earnings of a savings account with the flexibility of a traditional checking account.
  2. Secured charge cards earning up to 2% cash back1 rewards that prevent members from spending more than what they have, so they are always in control.

A Fruitful Future

Since launching Cash & Card, Sam says Fruitful has received incredibly positive feedback from its members.

“It just makes sense and it means they don’t have to think about their money on a daily basis,” says Sam. “A lot of our members aren’t necessarily financial experts, but with Cash & Card, we’re able to provide the tools they need to remove the stress and worry that comes from managing money.”

Looking to the future, Fruitful aims to make their members’ financial lives as simple and stress-free as possible, with Sam Lewis saying:

“We want Fruitful members to be so confident about where their money is going, that they never even have to think about it.”
